A mirror with a shelf solves the small-bathroom problem in one piece: no counter space, no room for a cabinet, and nowhere to put a toothbrush, a perfume or a plant. The ledge under the glass gives you that space without a second set of holes in the wall. The same design works in a hallway, where the shelf takes keys and the hooks take a bag, and in a bedroom, where it becomes a small display ledge.

This page compares seven mirrors with shelf: three for the bathroom, one arched statement mirror, two with hooks for the entryway and a full length panel with a movable shelf. Shelf sizes, frames, glass and weights come from each published listing. If you would rather hide everything behind the glass, my medicine cabinets page covers enclosed storage, and for a plain mirror over the sink see my bathroom wall mirrors.

Best Mirrors With Shelf Compared

Sizes are overall, width by height in inches, including the frame and shelf, as the listings give them. Only one seller publishes the shelf depth itself, and two more give the overall depth of the mirror, so the table says which is which. None of the listings gives a load rating for the shelf.

Bathroom Mirrors With Shelf

In a bathroom, the frame has to survive steam, and the shelf has to hold bottles without them sliding off. These three are built for over the sink.

Keonjinn matte black bathroom mirror with shelf, a rounded rectangle with a raised ledge holding skincare bottles

Editor's choice · Best Overall

Keonjinn 18x28 Bathroom Mirror with Shelf, Black

  • Mid-range
  • Size (in) 18 x 28
  • Frame Black metal
  • Glass 4mm copper-free, safety film
  • Shelf 1 inch raised edge

Check price on Amazon

The Keonjinn is the bathroom mirror with shelf that I would put over a small sink first, because it is built for steam. The frame is metal with a matte black, rust-resistant finish and rounded corners, and the shelf has a 1 inch raised lip, plus optional fixing accessories, to keep bottles in place. That lip is the detail cheaper shelves miss.

The listing states 4mm copper-free glass with a shatterproof film. Copper-free mirror is sold as better suited to damp rooms, and my guide to mirror desilvering explains why moisture is what damages a mirror's backing. It mounts with a French cleat, a two-part bracket that hooks together and keeps the mirror level, which is easier to hang straight than two D-rings. The listing weight is 12.35 pounds.

At 18 by 28 inches it fits a pedestal sink or a vanity up to about 24 inches wide. For a wider vanity, Keonjinn also sells larger sizes, and my bathroom mirror size calculator gives the right width for your sink.

What I like

  • Moisture-resistant, rust-resistant metal frame
  • Shelf has a 1 inch raised edge to stop bottles sliding
  • 4mm copper-free glass with a shatterproof film
  • French cleat mount for a level hang

Keep in mind

  • 18 inches wide suits only a small sink
  • Shelf depth not stated

Tangkula 23.5x17.5 Wood Frame Mirror with Shelf

  • Budget

  • Frame Engineered wood, natural
  • Glass Copper-free silver
  • Shelf Open shelf, about 4 deep overall

For a guest bathroom or a powder room on a small budget, this Tangkula covers the basics. It measures 23.5 by 4 by 17.5 inches overall in a natural engineered wood frame, with an open shelf along the bottom and a copper-free silver mirror of 17.5 by 14 inches. The listing weight is 11 pounds.

It needs no assembly: you fix it to the wall with the included hardware. Note that the mirror is noticeably smaller than the frame, so measure the glass size, not the overall size, when you check it against your face height.

Engineered wood is fine in a ventilated bathroom but does not like standing water. Keep it out of reach of splashes, run the fan, and wipe the shelf dry. If your bathroom is very humid, the metal Keonjinn above is the safer choice.

What I like

  • Low price tier
  • Glass size published: 17.5 by 14 inches
  • Copper-free silver mirror
  • Arrives assembled, hardware included

Keep in mind

  • Engineered wood frame, so keep it out of the splash zone
  • Small mirror area for the overall size

If the point of the shelf is to hold real toiletries, depth matters, and this Tangkula is the deepest of the bathroom mirrors here. The listing gives 22.5 inches wide, 5 inches deep and 27 inches tall, with an integrated bottom ledge for skincare and daily essentials.

The frame is MDF with a waterproof painted finish and vertical grooves, in white. The listing says it is designed for humid environments, which is true while the paint is intact. Seal any chip with paint as soon as you see it, because MDF swells when water gets in.

The glass size is not stated, so check the photos. As a white, grooved mirror it suits a cottage or modern farmhouse bathroom, and it doubles as a hallway mirror with a ledge for keys.

What I like

  • About 5 inches deep overall, the deepest ledge among the bathroom picks
  • Waterproof painted MDF finish stated
  • Vertical grooves give a modern look
  • 10.2 pounds

Keep in mind

  • MDF can swell if the paint is chipped
  • Glass size not stated

Decorative and Entryway Mirrors With Shelf

Outside the bathroom, a mirror with shelf becomes a display piece or a drop zone. These four add an arch, hooks or a full length view.

Best Arched

MIJNFHN 24x37.4 Arched Walnut Mirror with Shelf

  • Frame Solid walnut wood
  • Glass Tempered, safety film
  • Shelf 4.7 inches deep

The MIJNFHN is the most furniture-like piece here, and the most informative listing. It is 24 by 37.4 inches overall with a curved top in solid walnut wood, the mirror itself is 20 by 31.5 inches, and the shelf is 4.7 inches deep. Those three numbers tell you exactly what you are buying.

The glass is described as tempered, with an explosion-proof film on the back so that broken glass stays in small, blunt pieces, and the frame is moisture resistant with a waterproof backing. That makes it an option over a bathroom vanity as well as in a living room, an entryway or a bedroom.

It sits in the upper part of the mid-range tier, which is the price of solid wood. A 4.7 inch shelf takes candles, a plant or a few bottles. Load it lightly, since the listing gives no weight limit.

What I like

  • Solid walnut wood frame with an arched top
  • Shelf depth published: 4.7 inches
  • Tempered glass with an explosion-proof film backing
  • Mirror area published: 20 by 31.5 inches

Keep in mind

  • Solid wood still needs a ventilated bathroom
  • 15.4 pounds plus whatever is on the shelf

In an entryway, a shelf and hooks under one mirror turn a bare wall into a drop zone. The WONSTART is 21 by 28 inches with a matte black metal frame, a shelf at the bottom and 5 round hooks for keys, a backpack or a light jacket. The listing describes the frame as waterproof and rustproof, so it also works in a bathroom.

It hangs from hooks on the back, with mounting hardware included. Once the hooks are in use, the load is far more than the mirror's 10.35 pounds, so fix it into a stud or heavy anchors. My guide on how to hang a heavy mirror explains how to choose them.

For a hall with more wall, my entryway mirrors page compares larger mirrors and two hook mirrors without a shelf.

What I like

  • Shelf plus 5 round hooks for keys, bags and jackets
  • Waterproof, rustproof matte black metal frame
  • 21 by 28 inches, a useful hallway size
  • 10.35 pounds

Keep in mind

  • Shelf depth not stated
  • Coats on the hooks will hang over the shelf
LYRIMEAI small black scalloped wood mirror with shelf and three wooden hooks in a dorm room

Best Small

LYRIMEAI Scalloped Mirror with Shelf and 3 Hooks

  • Budget
  • Size (in) 11.6 x 15.75
  • Frame Wood, black
  • Glass Real glass
  • Shelf Small open shelf

Check price on Amazon

This little LYRIMEAI is the mirror with shelf for a dorm, a nursery or the strip of wall by a back door. It has a soft scalloped black frame, a small open shelf and 3 wooden hooks, and it weighs about 3 pounds, so it hangs on light hardware.

Read the size carefully. The title says 16 by 12 inches, while the listing text gives 11.61 by 3.07 by 15.75 inches. I go by the smaller figure. That is a face mirror for a last check, not a dressing mirror.

The listing states real glass with no distortion and includes mounting hardware with two hangers on the back. At this weight, it is also the one mirror here that you could hang on a rental wall with a couple of picture hangers. My guide on using a 3M Claw hanger explains the weight ratings.

What I like

  • 3 pounds, light enough for small anchors
  • Shelf and 3 wooden hooks
  • Real glass mirror
  • Scalloped frame for a nursery or dorm

Keep in mind

  • About 11.6 by 15.75 inches, smaller than the title suggests
  • Small mirror, for a quick check only
KungFuWood black full length mirror with shelf and hooks on a wall panel with sliding rails

Best Full Length

KungFuWood 52x19 Full Length Mirror with Shelf and Hooks

  • Mid-range
  • Size (in) 19 x 52.4
  • Frame Rubberwood, black
  • Glass Explosion-proof mirror
  • Shelf Movable shelf

The KungFuWood is a different idea: a full length wall mirror on a panel with a shelf and hooks that move. It measures 52.4 by 19 inches, the frame is rubberwood, and the shelf and hooks sit on double sliding rails, so you can set them at any height and shift them side to side.

That makes it work as a dressing station in a bedroom, with a shelf for a watch and hooks for tomorrow's bag, or as an entryway panel for coats and keys. The listing describes the mirror as explosion-proof and high-definition.

It is also by far the heaviest mirror here at 34.85 pounds, before anything goes on the hooks. Mount it into studs. If you only want the full length mirror, my full length floor mirrors page has lighter options.

What I like

  • Full length mirror, 52.4 by 19 inches
  • Shelf and hooks slide on rails to any height
  • Rubberwood frame
  • Explosion-proof mirror stated

Keep in mind

  • 34.85 pounds, so it needs studs or heavy anchors
  • Shelf and hooks take part of the 19 inch width

How I Chose These Mirrors With Shelf

  • A shelf that works. I looked at the shelf first: a raised lip, a published depth or a design that can move.
  • The right frame for the room. Metal or waterproof finishes for bathrooms, wood for dry rooms.
  • Published size and weight. A shelf adds load, so the weight helps you choose anchors.
  • Honest about the gaps. No listing gives a shelf load rating, and I say so.
  • Price tiers, not prices. Prices change daily, so I give tiers and send you to the live listing.

How to Choose a Mirror With Shelf

Mirror With Shelf or Medicine Cabinet?

A shelf keeps things in view and within reach, which is good for a plant, a nice bottle or the toothbrush you use twice a day. A medicine cabinet hides things behind the mirror, which is better for medicines and clutter. If you want both, hang a mirror with shelf in a guest bath and keep a cabinet in the main one. My medicine cabinets page compares recessed and surface mount models.

Frame and Finish for a Bathroom

  • Metal: the most forgiving in steam, as long as it is described as rust resistant.
  • Solid wood: fine in a ventilated room, with a sealed finish.
  • MDF or engineered wood: fine if the paint stays intact. Keep it away from splashes.

Shelf Depth and Lip

A ledge of 4 to 5 inches holds most bottles. A raised lip, like the Keonjinn's 1 inch edge, stops them sliding off. Without one, keep tall items to the back.

Size and Height

Over a sink, choose a mirror slightly narrower than the vanity and hang it so the glass, not the shelf, is at eye level. The shelf will sit lower than a plain mirror's bottom edge, so check that it clears the faucet with enough room to reach under it and to lift bottles off. My vanity mirror height guide has the standard measurements.

Hooks

In a hallway, hooks under the shelf are worth having. Just remember that a coat hanging off a hook covers the shelf below and adds several pounds, so fix the mirror into studs.

Where a Mirror With Shelf Works Best

The Small Bathroom

Over a pedestal sink with no counter, the shelf is your counter. Keep it to daily items so the mirror stays clear.

The Entryway

A shelf for keys and sunglasses, hooks for a bag, and a mirror for a last check. My entryway mirrors page covers sizing for the hall.

The Bedroom

On a bedroom wall, a mirror with shelf works as a small vanity for perfume and jewelry. For full jewelry storage behind a mirror, see my jewelry armoires with mirror.

Yes, in a bathroom with little counter space. The ledge holds a toothbrush cup, skincare or a plant without a separate shelf. Choose a metal or waterproof finish, look for a raised lip so bottles cannot slide, and hang it so there is room above the faucet to reach under the shelf.

Yes. In a bedroom the shelf becomes a small display ledge for perfume, a watch or jewelry you wear daily, and a wood frame works well since there is no steam. A full length mirror with a shelf can also serve as a compact dressing station where there is no room for a vanity.

It is mostly an entryway piece: the mirror for a last check, the shelf for keys and sunglasses, and the hooks for a bag, a leash or a light jacket. It also works in a bathroom for towels. Fix it into studs, because loaded hooks add far more weight than the mirror itself.

They do, usually with a small half-moon or straight ledge under the circle. Because a round mirror is narrow at the bottom, the shelf tends to be short, so it suits a soap and a cup rather than a row of bottles. For more storage, a rectangle with a full-width shelf holds more.

None of the listings on this page publishes a load rating, so treat the shelf as a ledge for light items such as bottles, a cup or a small plant. The real limit is how the mirror is fixed. Hang it from studs or anchors rated well above the mirror's weight, and do not lean on the shelf.
