Best Frameless Mirrors: Bare Glass Done Right, From Powder Room to Double Vanity
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. How I choose products.
On this page
A frameless mirror is just the glass: no wood, no metal, nothing around the edge. That makes it the quietest mirror you can hang, the easiest to fit into a tight bathroom and the one that never clashes with your faucet finish or your paint. The catch is that the edge is now on show, so the quality of the edge work, the glass thickness and the hanging hardware matter more than they do on a framed mirror.
This page compares seven frameless mirrors: four rectangles for over the sink, a round, an oval and a full length panel. Edge type, glass, size and hanging system come from each published listing. If you would rather have a frame after all, my bathroom wall mirrors page covers framed models, and my guide on how to frame a bathroom mirror shows how to add one to plain glass you already own.

Best Frameless Mirrors Compared
Sizes are width by height in inches as each listing gives them. On a frameless mirror the edge is the finish, so the table separates a true bevel (a wide angled border cut into the glass) from a polished edge (a smooth, flat edge). Glass thickness is listed where the seller publishes it.

Frameless Bathroom Mirrors for Over the Sink
Most people searching for a frameless mirror want one for the bathroom. These four are rectangles that hang either way, from a powder room size to one wide enough for a double vanity.
Editor's choice · Best Overall
TokeShimi 24x36 Frameless Beveled Mirror
- Mid-range
- Size (in) 24 x 36
- Edge 1 inch bevel
- Glass Shatterproof film
- Hanging Metal French cleat
The TokeShimi is the frameless mirror I would put over a standard single vanity first. At 24 by 36 inches it suits a 30 to 36 inch vanity, the 1 inch bevel gives the edge a finished, faceted look, and the hanging is handled by a pre-installed metal French cleat, a two-part bracket that hooks together and holds the mirror level.
That cleat is the reason it wins. Frameless glass shows every tilt, because there is no frame to hide a crooked line against the tile, and a cleat is far easier to get level than two separate D-rings. The listing says the mount works horizontally or vertically, so you can hang it portrait over a narrow vanity or landscape over a wide one.
The back carries a shatterproof film, which keeps the glass together if it breaks. The edge ships with a black silicone strip for protection that the seller says you can remove by hand. The listing describes the mirror as waterproof and moisture-proof but does not give the glass thickness or the weight, so plan anchors for a medium mirror and check the box weight before you drill.
What I like
- Wide 1 inch beveled edge
- Pre-installed metal French cleat
- Hangs vertically or horizontally
- Shatterproof film on the back
Keep in mind
- Weight not stated
- The black silicone edge strip has to be peeled off if you do not want it
Best for a Wider Vanity
Mestikits 30x36 Frameless Beveled Mirror
- Mid-range
- Size (in) 30 x 36
- Edge 0.6 inch bevel
- Glass 4mm tempered
- Hanging Hardware included
If your vanity is 36 to 42 inches wide, the extra 6 inches of width on the Mestikits makes the mirror look sized to the counter rather than floating above it. It is 30 by 36 inches, cut from 4mm tempered glass, with a 0.6 inch bevel and polished edges.
Tempered glass is the safer kind of glass for a frameless mirror: the listing describes it as five times the strength of ordinary glass of the same thickness, and when it breaks it crumbles into small, blunt pieces. The seller also mentions reinforced support bars on the back, which help a large sheet of glass stay flat on the wall.
The listing gives the weight as 18.6 pounds. That is a real load for a frameless mirror with nothing to grab, so fix it into studs or proper anchors. My guide to how to hang a heavy mirror explains which anchors to use for this weight.
What I like
- 4mm tempered glass
- Weight published: 18.6 pounds
- Reinforced support bars on the back
- Arrives assembled with hardware
Keep in mind
- Narrower 0.6 inch bevel
- Heavier than the TokeShimi, so anchors matter
Best Budget
KOCUUY 16x24 Frameless Mirror
- Budget
- Size (in) 16 x 24
- Edge Rounded corners
- Glass 3mm, shatterproof
- Hanging Screw set
For a powder room, a guest bath or a pedestal sink, the KOCUUY is the inexpensive way into a frameless look. It measures 16 by 24 inches, the corners are slightly rounded so the glass is less likely to chip or catch a hip, and it weighs about 6 pounds.
The glass is 3mm with a shatterproof upgrade, thinner than the 4mm to 6mm on the other picks. On a mirror this size that is fine; thin glass only becomes a problem on large sheets, where it can flex and distort the reflection. It comes with a screw set and hangs either way.
There is no bevel, only a smooth edge, which gives it the barest look on this page. If you want the faceted edge at a similar size, step up to a beveled model; if you want the simplest possible glass on a wall, this is it.
What I like
- Low price tier
- Light at about 6 pounds
- Rounded corners for safety
- Shatterproof treatment on 3mm glass
Keep in mind
- 3mm glass is thinner than the others
- No bevel, so the edge looks plain
Best for a Double Vanity
TokeShimi 48x30 Frameless Beveled Mirror
- Mid-range
- Size (in) 48 x 30
- Edge 1 inch bevel
- Glass Semi-tempered, safety film
- Hanging Pre-installed brackets
A double vanity needs a wide mirror, and the TokeShimi 48 by 30 is the largest rectangle here. Hung horizontally over a 60 inch vanity, it leaves a little wall on each side, which is the look most designers aim for.
It shares the 1 inch bevel of the smaller TokeShimi and comes with pre-installed metal brackets. The listing calls the glass semi-tempered and adds a shatterproof film, which keeps a broken sheet together.
The weight is not stated, but a 48 inch sheet of glass is heavy and awkward. This is a two-person hang, into studs. If you want two separate mirrors over two sinks instead, two of the 24 by 36 TokeShimi models give you the same edge in a pair.
What I like
- 48 inches wide for a double vanity
- 1 inch beveled edge
- Pre-installed metal brackets
- Safety film on semi-tempered glass
Keep in mind
- Weight not stated, and a sheet this size is heavy
- Semi-tempered, not fully tempered
Frameless Round, Oval and Full Length Mirrors
Outside the rectangle, a frameless mirror softens a room. These three come from a maker that specializes in beveled glass, and from a tall panel for dressing.
Best Round
Better Bevel 30 Inch Frameless Round Mirror
- Mid-range
- Size (in) 30 round
- Edge Polished edge
- Orientation Round
- Weight (lb) 15
A frameless round mirror is the cleanest version of the round mirror trend: a plain disc of glass with nothing around it. The Better Bevel 30 inch has a polished edge rather than a bevel, so it reads as a thin, crisp circle on the wall.
The listing is short. It gives the size, 30 by 30 inches, and a weight of 15 pounds, and describes it as a statement over a vanity or on any wall. A 30 inch circle suits a 30 to 36 inch vanity or a small entryway console.
Better Bevel lists its oval below with a flush hanging system; the round listing does not describe its hardware, so check the box when it arrives. For framed circles, my decorative mirrors page has round mirrors in wood and metal.
What I like
- 30 inch diameter
- Polished edge for a clean circle
- Weight published: 15 pounds
- From a mirror specialist
Keep in mind
- Hanging hardware not described in the listing
- No bevel, by design
Best Oval
Better Bevel 24x36 Frameless Oval Mirror
- Budget
- Size (in) 24 x 36 oval
- Edge 1 inch bevel, polished
- Glass 1/4 inch (about 6mm)
- Hanging Ultra-flush system
The Better Bevel oval has the most detailed listing on this page. The glass is 1/4 inch thick, about 6mm, which the maker says eliminates distortion, the bevel is 1 inch with polished edges, and the silver backing is described as made for high-humidity bathrooms.
It hangs on what Better Bevel calls an ultra-flush hanging system, which keeps the glass close to the wall and installs vertically or horizontally. Hung vertically over a single vanity it gives a softer, more traditional line than a rectangle; turned sideways it suits a wide, low wall.
Thick glass is heavy: the listing gives about 15 pounds for 24 by 36 inches. The maker says it is designed, assembled and packaged in the USA. For a moisture-heavy bathroom, my guide to mirror desilvering explains why the backing quality matters on frameless glass.
What I like
- 1/4 inch thick glass
- 1 inch bevel with polished edges
- Ultra-flush hanging system
- Designed and assembled in the USA, per the listing
Keep in mind
- Oval shows less of the room than a rectangle
- Heavy for its size at about 15 pounds
Best Full Length
NimbusCrest 51x16 Frameless Full Length Mirror
- Mid-range
- Size (in) 16 x 51
- Edge Bevel
- Glass 5mm tempered
- Hanging Wall hardware
A frameless full length mirror gives the whole surface to the glass, which helps in a small bedroom or closet. The NimbusCrest is 51 by 16 inches in 5mm tempered glass with a beveled edge, and the listing gives 14 pounds.
Hung on the wall beside a door or in a dressing nook, a 51 inch mirror shows most of you from a few steps back. If you need head to toe at close range, look for 60 inches or more on my full length mirror page.
It comes with wall hardware that the seller says is load tested. Tempered glass with a bevel is a step up from the thin, unbeveled tiles often sold as frameless full length mirrors, and it will not flex the way thin glass can.
What I like
- 5mm tempered glass
- Beveled edge
- Weight published: 14 pounds
- Narrow enough for a door-side wall
Keep in mind
- 51 inches tall shows head to knee at most distances
- Needs a level, solid wall
How I Chose These Frameless Mirrors
- The edge. I looked for a real bevel or a polished edge, not raw cut glass.
- Safer glass. Tempered glass or a safety film, because a frameless sheet has nothing to hold the pieces if it breaks.
- A real hanging system. A cleat, brackets or a flush system, so the glass sits level and tight to the wall.
- Published sizes and weights. Where the listing leaves something out, the table says so.
- Price tiers, not prices. Prices change daily, so I give tiers and send you to the live listing.
How to Choose a Frameless Mirror
Beveled Edge or Polished Edge?
A beveled mirror has a border, usually 0.5 to 1 inch wide, ground at an angle into the face of the glass. It catches light, gives the edge a finished look and hides small chips. A polished edge is ground smooth and square, which looks thinner and more modern. Both are safe to touch. Raw cut glass is not, and you should not hang it.
Glass Thickness
Thicker glass stays flatter, so it reflects with less distortion. On a small mirror, 3mm is fine. From about 24 by 36 inches up, 4mm to 6mm gives a truer reflection. The Better Bevel oval is the thickest here at 1/4 inch.
Tempered Glass and Safety Film
Tempered glass breaks into small, blunt pieces. A safety film on the back of ordinary or semi-tempered glass holds the pieces together instead. In a bathroom or a child's room, I would want at least one of the two on a frameless mirror.
Hanging Hardware
- French cleat: the easiest to hang level, and it holds the glass close to the wall.
- Brackets or a flush system: built onto the back, invisible from the front.
- J-clips or mirror clips: the traditional way to hang plain glass. They are visible on the edges.
- Adhesive: only for light acrylic or thin tiles. My guide on removing a glued mirror shows why glue makes a mirror hard to replace.
Frameless Mirror or Framed Mirror?
When Frameless Works Best
Frameless suits a small bathroom, where a frame eats into the glass area, and a modern room, where you want the tile and the faucet to be the detail. It also never has to match anything, so it survives a remodel. In a damp bathroom there is no wood or MDF frame to swell.
When a Frame Is the Better Choice
A frame makes a mirror a piece of decor. Over a fireplace, in a hallway or in a traditional room, a frame adds weight and character that bare glass cannot. A frame also hides the edge of the silvering, where moisture usually gets in first. If that sounds like your room, see my decorative mirrors or my sunburst mirrors for something with presence.
Sizing a Frameless Mirror Over a Vanity
Choose a mirror a few inches narrower than the vanity on each side, and hang it so the center sits around eye level. My bathroom mirror size calculator gives the width and height for your vanity, and my vanity mirror height guide covers how high to hang it.
They do not have to be. A frameless mirror is easier to fit, has nothing to swell in steam and never clashes with the fixtures. A frame adds decor and protects the edge of the silvering. In a small or modern bathroom, frameless is usually the better choice; in a traditional one, a frame often looks more finished.
Pick one a few inches narrower than the vanity on each side. Over a 30 inch vanity, a 24 by 36 inch mirror works; over a 36 to 42 inch vanity, 30 by 36; over a 60 inch double vanity, 48 by 30 or two smaller mirrors. Small powder rooms suit 16 by 24.
Yes. Frameless full length mirrors are usually 48 to 60 inches tall and 12 to 16 inches wide, hung vertically on a wall or behind a door. Look for tempered glass and a beveled or polished edge, and fix it to a flat, solid wall so the long sheet does not flex.
It is a good choice when a rectangle feels too hard. An oval softens a room full of straight lines and suits traditional and modern bathrooms alike. It shows a little less of you than a rectangle the same size, so go one size up if you use it for getting ready.
Use the hardware that comes with it: a French cleat, brackets or a flush system on the back. Mark a level line, fix the wall part into studs or anchors rated well above the mirror weight, then lift the mirror onto it. Mirror clips are the alternative for plain glass, but you will see them.
