Best Bedroom Mirrors: The Right Mirror for the Dresser, the Corner and the Wall
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. How I choose products.
On this page
The right bedroom mirror depends less on style than on where it is going. A mirror over a dresser is a piece of decor that you also use every morning. A mirror in the corner has to show you head to toe. A mirror on the wall above the bed is mostly decor, and it hangs over the one spot where you least want anything to fall. So this page sorts seven bedroom mirrors by position first and by style second.
You will find three mirrors for over the dresser in wood and bronze, two cheval mirrors that stand and tilt, a lighted full length mirror for the wall, and a lightweight acrylic set for the wall above the bed. Sizes, materials and weights come from each published listing. If you want a large leaning floor mirror, my full length floor mirrors page covers that category in depth, and my guide on where to put a mirror in the bedroom helps you choose the wall.

Bedroom Mirrors for Over the Dresser
The details in these reviews come from the makers' and sellers' published listings. I compared them on what matters in a bedroom: how the mirror fits the furniture it sits with, how it is fixed or stands, and how much it weighs. Where a listing contradicts itself, I say so.
Editor's choice · Best Over the Dresser
Pocetry 30x40 Rustic Solid Wood Mirror
- Mid-range
- Where it goes Over a dresser
- Size (in) 30 x 40
- Frame Solid wood, iron brackets
- Glass Beveled
A mirror over the dresser is the bedroom mirror most people use every day, and it has to look as though it belongs to the dresser below. The Pocetry does that well for a farmhouse, rustic or traditional room. It is 30 by 40 inches including the frame, and the listing itself suggests hanging it horizontally over a bedroom dresser, which at 40 inches wide suits a dresser of roughly 54 to 60 inches.
The frame is described as 100% solid wood with no MDF or veneer, hand finished in a weathered brown with dark iron corner brackets and rivet accents. The mirror has a beveled edge, D-rings support either orientation, and screws, anchors and instructions come in the box. The listing weight is 18.5 pounds.
That weight is the reason I would hang it from two points, into a stud if you can find one, rather than from one hook. Set the bottom of the frame 6 to 10 inches above the dresser top so the lamp and the mirror do not crowd each other.
What I like
- 100% solid wood frame, no MDF or veneer, per the listing
- 30 by 40 inches hangs wide over a 45 to 60 inch dresser
- Beveled glass and D-rings for either orientation
- Screws and wall anchors included
Keep in mind
- 18.5 pounds needs good anchors or a stud
- Iron brackets and rivets will not suit a modern room
Best Bronze Bedroom Mirror
Howard Elliott George 24x36 Oil Rubbed Bronze Mirror
- Mid-range
- Where it goes Over a dresser or nightstand
- Size (in) 24 x 36
- Frame Wood, oil rubbed bronze
- Glass 1 inch bevel
Bronze is a popular frame finish for bedroom mirrors, because it sits well with wood furniture, brass lamps and warm bedding. The Howard Elliott George is a wood framed rectangle with grooves for depth, hand finished in antique oil rubbed bronze, with a 1 inch bevel on the glass and a hardwood backing.
At 24 by 36 inches it is the right size for a smaller dresser of about 36 to 48 inches, or hung tall on the wall beside a bed with a nightstand below. The listing says D-rings are already on the back and that it is ready to hang or lean out of the box. The weight is given as 18 pounds, which is a lot for this size and a sign of the solid backing.
It sits in the upper end of the mid-range for a mirror of this size. You are paying for the finish and the bevel. If you want the same look for less, the bronze Micasso below is bigger, but its listing tells you less about the frame.
What I like
- Hand finished antique oil rubbed bronze frame
- 1 inch beveled edge with hardwood backing
- D-rings fitted, ready to hang or lean
- 24 by 36 inches suits a 36 to 48 inch dresser or a nightstand wall
Keep in mind
- 18 pounds is heavy for its size
- Too narrow for a dresser wider than about 48 inches
Best Statement Over a Long Dresser
Micasso 40x29 Vintage Bronze Baroque Arched Mirror
- Mid-range
- Where it goes Over a wide dresser
- Size (in) 29 x 40
- Frame Metal, bronze finish
- Glass 4mm silver, tempered
If the dresser is the main piece of furniture in your bedroom, an ornate arch over it makes it feel like a dressing table from a hotel suite. The Micasso is 40 by 29 inches with a baroque, French style metal frame in vintage bronze, and the listing is unusually specific about where it fits: dressing tables and mantels of 40 to 60 inches wide.
The glass is described as 4mm HD silver mirror with safety tempered glass, which the seller says breaks into small, blunt pieces. The listing also mentions a reinforced frame and a 1.2 meter drop test on the packaging. It does not give the weight, so check the full listing and plan for a heavy mirror.
The style is the decision here. Baroque bronze looks right with traditional wood, velvet and brass. With a plain modern dresser, the Pocetry or the George above will look more at home.
What I like
- Ornate baroque arch in a bronze finish
- Listing sizes it for 40 to 60 inch dressers
- 4mm silver mirror with tempered safety glass stated
- Metal frame
Keep in mind
- Weight not given for a large metal frame
- Ornate style is hard to mix with modern furniture
Cheval Mirrors for a Bedroom Dressing Corner
A cheval mirror is a full length mirror that swings between two posts on its own stand, so you can tilt it to see your shoes or your face. It needs floor space, but no drilling, which makes it a classic choice for a bedroom corner.
Best Cheval Mirror
Coaster Cabot 65" Arched Cheval Mirror, Merlot
- Mid-range
- Where it goes Corner, freestanding
- Size (in) 23 x 21.25 x 65
- Frame Rubberwood and MDF
- Glass Mirrored glass
The Cabot is the cheval mirror I would put in a bedroom corner first, because Coaster publishes exactly what you need to plan the space. It measures 23 inches wide, 21.25 inches deep and 65 inches tall, with a softly arched top and a Merlot finish on a rubberwood and MDF frame. The listing weight is 22.2 pounds.
The mirror pivots within its support frame, so you change the angle without moving the stand. The listing reminds you to leave room for the panel to tilt and for you to step back, which is good advice: a cheval mirror needs a clear spot about an arm's length in front of it.
Assembly is required. Once it is built, check the pivot knobs every few months, since a loose pivot lets the glass drop forward. My guide on where to place a floor mirror in the bedroom covers the best corners to use.
What I like
- 65 inches tall with a softly arched top
- Mirror pivots inside the frame to change the angle
- Rubberwood and MDF frame in a Merlot finish
- Full dimensions published: 23 W x 21.25 D x 65 H
Keep in mind
- Takes about 2 square feet of floor plus room to tilt
- Assembly required
Best Budget Cheval
Roundhill Queen Anna Oval Cheval Mirror
- Budget
- Where it goes Corner, freestanding
- Size (in) 22.5 x 16 x 59.25
- Frame Wood
- Glass Oval glass
For a smaller budget or a smaller corner, the Roundhill is a traditional Queen Anna style cheval with an elongated oval glass that swings between turned posts above curved bracket feet. A stretcher between the legs adds stability. The listing gives 22.5 by 16 by 59.25 inches, so it is shallower than the Cabot and fits a tighter spot.
One thing to check before you order: the title says oak finish, while the description calls it a cherry cheval-style mirror. Look at the photos for the color option you choose and confirm with the seller if the finish matters to your furniture.
An oval shows less of you at the top and bottom than a rectangle of the same height, but at about 59 inches it still gives a full outfit view for most adults when tilted. Some assembly is needed, with hardware in the box.
What I like
- Elongated oval glass on a tilting stand
- Turned posts with a stretcher between the legs for stability
- About 59 inches tall and 15 pounds
- Lowest price tier among the cheval mirrors
Keep in mind
- Title says oak finish, the description says cherry
- Oval glass shows less of you than a rectangle
Bedroom Wall Mirrors: Full Length and Above the Bed
The last two picks hang on the wall: one for a full outfit check in a room without a free corner, and one light enough for the wall over your headboard.
Best Lighted Full Length
DUMOS 16x60 LED Full Length Mirror
- Budget
- Where it goes Wall, stand or lean
- Size (in) 16 x 60
- Frame Frame with LED
- Glass Shatter-resistant safety glass
Many bedrooms are lit by one overhead light that is behind you when you stand at the mirror. A lighted full length mirror fixes that, and at 16 by 60 inches the DUMOS fits the narrow strip of wall beside a closet or door. The touch control cycles through cool white, warm white and golden yellow, and a three second press dims or brightens the light.
The listing states high-definition, shatter-resistant safety glass and three setups: on the included stand, mounted on the wall either way, or leaned. In a bedroom I would mount it, since a 19.7 pound mirror on a stand is easy to knock with a door or a laundry basket. The features do not say how it is powered, so check the full listing for the cord and plan the outlet.
If you want a larger leaning or freestanding mirror with lights, my full length floor mirrors page compares bigger LED models. My guide to the best lighting for makeup explains why light from the front matters.
What I like
- Three light colors with dimming by touch
- Shatter-resistant safety glass stated
- Wall mount, stand or lean
- Narrow 16 inch width fits beside a closet door
Keep in mind
- Power source not stated in the features
- 19.7 pounds on a narrow base if you use the stand
Best Above the Bed
Keweis 5-Piece Moon Phase Acrylic Mirror Set
- Budget
- Where it goes Above the bed
- Size (in) 5 pieces
- Frame Imitation wood and acrylic
- Glass Acrylic, decor only
Above the bed is the one place in the bedroom where I would choose something that is barely a mirror at all. This Keweis set is five moon phase shapes in imitation wood with acrylic mirror panels, weighing about 0.8 pounds in total according to the listing. If one comes off the wall, nobody gets hurt.
Be clear on what it is. The seller states plainly that the panels do not give the same image as an ordinary mirror and are there as decoration that reflects light. They stick on with the included adhesive and work on smooth surfaces such as smooth paint, wood and tile, but not powder coated walls. Peel the protective film once they are up.
For a real mirror in the bedroom, choose one of the dresser or cheval picks above. For the wall over the headboard, this gives you shine and pattern without the risk, and it suits the feng shui advice to keep a reflective mirror away from the bed.
What I like
- Under a pound in total, per the listing
- Acrylic panels that do not shatter like glass
- Five shapes you can arrange in a row or an arc
- Sticks on with the included adhesive
Keep in mind
- Decor only: the seller says it does not reflect like a real mirror
- Not for powder coated or textured walls
How I Chose These Bedroom Mirrors
- Position first. I picked mirrors for the four places a bedroom mirror goes: over the dresser, in a corner, on a wall for a full length check, and above the bed.
- Published size and weight. A bedroom mirror often hangs over furniture you use every day, so I favored listings that publish both.
- Frames that match bedroom furniture. Wood and bronze dominate, because they sit with dressers and headboards.
- No overlap with the floor mirror page. Big leaning arched mirrors live on my floor mirror page. Here I kept to mirrors that suit a bedroom specifically.
- Price tiers, not prices. Prices change daily, so the table gives tiers and the buttons go to the live listing.
How to Choose a Bedroom Mirror
Over the Dresser: Size and Height
The mirror should be narrower than the dresser. A common designer rule of thumb is about two-thirds to three-quarters of the dresser width, so a 60 inch dresser takes a mirror around 40 to 45 inches wide, and a 36 inch chest one of about 24 to 27 inches. Leave 6 to 10 inches between the top of the dresser and the bottom of the frame, and keep the top of the frame below the ceiling line by at least a hand's width.
Full Length: Wall, Door or Stand
For dressing, a full length mirror beats any other bedroom mirror. Mounted on a wall it takes no floor space. On a door it uses space you were not using, which I cover in my over the door mirrors guide. On a stand, as a cheval, it moves but needs a corner. If you want something big to lean, go to my floor mirror picks.
Above the Bed: Light or Not at All
The safest rule is that anything over a bed should be light enough that a fall would not injure you. That rules out most framed glass mirrors unless they are fixed into studs with rated hardware. Light acrylic decor, like the moon phase set, is the low-risk way to get the look. My acrylic vs glass guide explains the trade-offs in reflection.
Frame Finish: Wood, Bronze or Metal
- Solid wood: warm and forgiving with mixed furniture. Check whether the listing says solid wood or MDF.
- Bronze: sits with brass lamps and traditional bedding, and hides fingerprints better than gold.
- Black or thin metal: modern and light, and a good match for a minimal bedroom.
Glass and Weight
A bedroom mirror rarely needs to be the heaviest in the house. Tempered or safety glass, which the Micasso and DUMOS listings state, breaks into small pieces. Check the listed weight before you choose hardware, and use two fixing points for anything over about 10 pounds.
Where to Put a Mirror in the Bedroom
The best spot is where daylight or a lamp hits you from the front when you stand at the mirror. That usually means a wall facing or beside the window, not the wall with the window behind you. Avoid placing a mirror where it catches you from the bed at night, which many people find unsettling, and which feng shui advice also discourages. My full guide on where to place a mirror in the bedroom walks through each wall, and my feng shui mirror placement guide covers the traditional rules.
If your bedroom also has to hold jewelry and accessories, a mirror with storage behind it saves a piece of furniture. My page on jewelry armoires with a mirror compares those.
It can be, but only if the mirror is light or fixed very securely. A glass mirror over a headboard should go into studs with hardware rated well above its weight, never on one nail or wire. The low-risk choice is lightweight acrylic decor that cannot injure anyone if it comes down.
Choose a mirror about two-thirds to three-quarters the width of the dresser. That is roughly 40 to 45 inches wide over a 60 inch dresser and 24 to 27 inches over a 36 inch chest. Hang the bottom edge 6 to 10 inches above the dresser top.
If you get dressed in the bedroom, yes. A dresser mirror shows your face and shoulders, but not shoes or hemlines. A wall mounted full length mirror takes no floor space, while a cheval mirror stands in a corner and tilts. A door mirror is the answer when no wall is free.
Bronze suits bedrooms with wood furniture, brass or warm lamps and traditional bedding. It is darker and warmer than gold and shows fingerprints less. In a white, minimal room, a black metal or light wood frame usually looks cleaner, so match the finish to your hardware and lamps.
A cheval mirror is a full length mirror that hangs between two upright posts on its own floor stand, so the glass can tilt forward or back. It needs a corner and room to step back, but no drilling, which makes it a traditional choice for a bedroom dressing area.
