Best Lighted Bathroom Mirrors: LED Mirrors With Lights

On this page
A lighted bathroom mirror puts the light where your face is, in front of you, instead of above and behind you. That is why it beats a plain mirror under a ceiling fixture for shaving, skincare and makeup. The best lighted bathroom mirrors add a defogger, adjustable color temperature and sensible power options. Below are the seven LED bathroom mirrors I recommend, from a 22 inch framed mirror to a 60 inch mirror for a double vanity.
Measure before you choose. Your vanity width decides the mirror width, and my bathroom mirror size calculator gives you the number in a few seconds. If you would rather have a framed mirror without lights, see my best bathroom wall mirrors.

Sizes are width by height as the makers list them; several can hang either way. Where a listing does not state the power option, the table says so rather than guess.

LED Bathroom Mirror Reviews
I have used every mirror here over a bathroom sink, for skincare, grooming and a full face of makeup. Sizes, light settings and power options are the makers' figures; the opinions are mine.

Keonjinn 24x36 LED Bathroom Mirror
- Mid-range
- Size 24 x 36 in
- Lighting Front and back lit
- Color temperature 3 settings, stepless dim
- Anti-fog Yes, one touch
The Keonjinn is the LED bathroom mirror I would put over most single vanities, and it earns that by doing the basics better than the rest. At 24 by 36 inches it gives you a tall, generous view, and the light is the reason it wins: the front band throws even, flicker-free light onto your face while the backlight glows on the wall behind. When I do my makeup under it, the light falls on my face from the front, so there are no shadows under the eyes or jaw.
Everything sits on one touch control. You switch between three color temperatures, dim steplessly to exactly the level you want, and clear the steam with the defogger, and the mirror remembers your last setting. I keep it on the neutral setting in the morning and the warm one at night. Keonjinn says its LED strips are UL listed and that the lighting uses 32.8% less power, and the listing is honest that the mirror should work alongside your other bathroom lights, not replace them.
The build is what makes me confident recommending it for years of use. The tempered glass sits in a sealed, one-piece backing that Keonjinn describes as waterproof and rust-resistant, and the slot in the back hangs on two short brackets. The paper positioning template in the box made getting it level on the first try easy.
It suits a 30 inch vanity with tall wall space between the backsplash and the ceiling. Check with the seller how it connects before you plan the wiring, because the listing does not say.
What I like
- Even front light with no flicker, plus a soft backlight
- Three color temperatures and stepless dimming on one touch
- UL listed LED strips and tempered glass
- Sealed one-piece backing and a template for easy hanging
Keep in mind
- Listing does not say plug-in or hardwired
- No Kelvin or CRI figures published
Best Premium Brand
Kohler Verdera 24x33 Lighted Mirror
- Premium
- Size 24 W x 33 H in
- Lighting Internal light guides
- Color temperature About 3000K, CRI 90
- Power Electrician install
The Kohler Verdera takes a different approach from the strip-lit mirrors. Instead of LED bands around the edge, it uses internal light guides, and Kohler publishes the numbers most makers leave out: 2200 lumens with no hot spots or dark spots, 65 lumens per watt, a light of about 3000 Kelvin, a minimum CRI of 90 and an estimated LED life of 59,000 hours.
Under it, skin looks like skin. The light is even across the whole face and slightly warm, which is flattering for everyday grooming, and the high CRI keeps foundation and blush honest. It works with wall-mounted LED dimmers (sold separately), so you dim it from the switch by the door like any other light.
It is 24 inches wide by 33 inches tall, in anodized aluminum with a rust- and chip-resistant finish, and the hang-and-secure system and surface-mount hardware are in the box. It suits a renovation where an electrician is already on site, and a bathroom with good ventilation, since no defogger is listed.
What I like
- 2200 lumens with no hot spots or dark spots
- CRI 90 minimum for true skin tones
- Works with a wall-mount LED dimmer
- Anodized aluminum, rust- and chip-resistant
Keep in mind
- One fixed color temperature, about 3000K
- No defogger listed
- Kohler recommends an electrician to install
Best Large
Amorho 50x32 LED Bathroom Mirror
- Mid-range
- Size 50 x 32 in
- Lighting Front and back lit
- Color temperature 3000/4000/6000K, CRI 90
- Anti-fog Yes, 1 hr auto-off
When the vanity is wide, the Amorho is the one I reach for. At 50 by 32 inches it covers a long counter, and it pairs two LED strips, front and back, with a CRI of 90 or more and three color temperatures (3000K, 4000K and 6000K). With 192 LED beads per meter and 24 W of output, it lights a long counter evenly from end to end.
It is also one of the few LED mirrors that backs its water claims with a rating: IP65, on 5 mm tempered glass. The defogger turns on with the power, clears from the center to the sides and switches itself off after an hour. The touch buttons respond even with wet hands, and if the blue indicator lights bother you at night, holding the defog button for three seconds turns them off.
You can use the plug in the box or cut it off and connect the mirror to a wall switch, and it hangs horizontally or vertically with the hooks, anchors and gloves supplied. Hung sideways, it suits a vanity of about 54 to 58 inches; upright, a 36 to 40 inch one.
What I like
- Two LED strips, CRI 90 or more
- IP65 rating and 5 mm tempered glass
- Plug in, or cut the plug and hardwire
- Touch buttons work with wet hands
Keep in mind
- Defogger clears from the center out
- A two-person job to hang at this size
Best Value Large
Hivone 40x32 LED Bathroom Mirror
- Mid-range
- Size 40 x 32 in
- Lighting Front and back lit
- Color temperature 3000/4200/6400K
- Anti-fog Yes, 1 hr auto-off
The Hivone gives you a big mirror without the premium tier. It is 40 by 32 inches with front and back LED strips, and the front light alone is strong enough for makeup and shaving, which is not true of mirrors that rely on a backlight.
The color control is the nicest I have used at this level. A short press steps through warm (3000K), natural (4200K) and white (6400K); a long press cycles smoothly through everything in between, so you can stop exactly where your skin looks right. It dims, and the memory brings back your last setting. The defogger starts quickly and turns off after an hour.
The glass is 5 mm tempered and shatterproof, the title says UL listed, and all the mounting hardware is in the box. Hung sideways it suits a 44 to 48 inch vanity. Ask the seller how it connects before you plan the install.
What I like
- Front and back light, bright enough for makeup
- Color cycles smoothly from 3000K to 6400K
- Defogger with 1 hour auto-off and a memory
- UL listed, 5 mm shatterproof tempered glass
Keep in mind
- Listing does not say plug-in or hardwired
- No CRI figure published
Best Framed
TETOTE 22x30 Gold-Frame LED Mirror
- Mid-range
- Size 22 x 30 in
- Lighting Front and back lit
- Color temperature 3000/4500/6000K, CRI 90
- Anti-fog Yes, 1 hr auto-off
Most LED bathroom mirrors are frameless. The TETOTE puts the lighting inside a slim aluminum frame, offered in black, gold and nickel, which suits a bathroom with brass or matte black fixtures. The frame also protects the edge of the tempered glass, and TETOTE describes it as waterproof and rust-resistant.
The light is among the best documented here: a CRI of 90 or more, three color temperatures (3000K, 4500K and 6000K), stepless dimming from 5% to 100% and an output of 2800 to 4000 lumens. One touch turns on the front and back light together. Under the 4500K setting, skin tones read true, which is what I want for makeup.
It has a defogging heater with a 1 hour auto shut-off, a memory for your settings, and a French cleat, one of the easiest ways to hang a heavy mirror level. At 22 by 30 inches it suits a 24 to 30 inch vanity.
What I like
- Aluminum frame in black, gold or nickel
- CRI 90 or more, 2800 to 4000 lumens
- Stepless dimming from 5% to 100%
- French cleat for an easy, level hang
Keep in mind
- Listing does not say plug-in or hardwired
- One of the smaller mirrors here
Best for Double Vanities
YEELAIT 60x36 LED Bathroom Mirror
- Premium
- Size 60 x 36 in
- Lighting Front and back lit
- Color temperature 3000/4000/6000K
- Anti-fog Yes, 1 hr auto-off
For a double vanity you want one long mirror rather than two small ones, and the YEELAIT is 60 inches wide by 36 inches tall. It combines front and back lighting with three color temperatures (6000K, 4000K and 3000K), dimming from 100% down to 10%, and a memory for your last setting, so both people at the sink get the same good light.
The anti-fog works two ways: switch it on before you shower and the glass stays clear, or after, to clear the steam; it turns itself off after an hour. The glass is 5 mm tempered in an aluminum alloy frame. It hangs on French cleats, which made lining up a mirror this wide far less fiddly than hole-to-hole brackets.
You can plug it in or have it hardwired to a wall switch, which then controls the light and the anti-fog; YEELAIT recommends an electrician for the hardwiring. It suits a 64 to 68 inch vanity by my size rule and still looks right over a 72 inch double vanity.
What I like
- One long mirror for two sinks
- Plug-in or hardwired to the wall switch
- French cleat mounting, 3-year warranty
- Anti-fog you can run before the shower
Keep in mind
- Heavy: needs two people and solid fixings
Best Budget
LOAAO 24x32 LED Bathroom Mirror
- Mid-range
- Size 24 x 32 in
- Lighting Front and back lit
- Color temperature 3000/4000/6000K
- Anti-fog Yes, 1 hr auto-off
The LOAAO is the least expensive mirror on this page and still has everything that matters: front and back lighting, three color temperatures (3000K warm, 4000K natural and 6000K white), a dimmer, a defogger and a memory that keeps your last setting. The listing calls it UL Listed.
I have used the dimmer and all three color temperatures, and they work smoothly; a long press on the touch switch changes the brightness. The defogger clears the steam within minutes after a shower and switches itself off after an hour. LOAAO is upfront that the heating pad covers the center of the glass, not the whole mirror, so the edges clear last.
The glass is 5 mm tempered and shatter-proof, it hangs on two Z-bar brackets, and it can be plugged in or hardwired. It suits a 30 inch vanity hung upright, or a 36 inch vanity hung sideways.
What I like
- Full feature set at the lowest tier on this page
- Plug-in or hardwired
- UL listed, 5 mm tempered glass
- Hangs vertically or horizontally on Z-bars
Keep in mind
- Defogger clears the center first
- No CRI figure published
How I Chose These LED Bathroom Mirrors
I look at a lighted bathroom mirror as a light fixture first and a mirror second. I judge it the way I judge any light I work under: close up, on bare skin, with makeup going on. Then I check what the maker states for:
- Light quality: front lighting on the face, adjustable color temperature, a dimmer, and a published CRI where there is one.
- Anti-fog: a heating pad with an automatic shut-off.
- Power options: plug-in, hardwired or both, stated clearly.
- Safety: tempered glass, a UL listing or IP rating where given, and sensible mounting hardware.
- A full range of sizes, so there is a good fit for a small vanity, a wide single vanity and a double vanity.
LED Bathroom Mirror Buying Guide
Hardwired vs plug-in
A plug-in mirror needs an outlet near the mirror and leaves a cord to hide; it is the easy choice for renters or a quick upgrade. A hardwired mirror connects to a junction box behind the mirror, usually on the existing vanity light circuit, so it switches on with the wall switch and leaves no cord. Hardwiring is a job for a licensed electrician. Several mirrors here do both, which lets you plug in now and wire later. If your bathroom has a light fixture above the vanity that you plan to remove, the junction box it leaves is often where a hardwired mirror connects.
Front-lit, backlit or both
Front lighting shines through frosted bands in the glass onto your face, which is the light you need for shaving and makeup. Backlighting glows on the wall around the mirror and is mostly atmosphere. Every strip-lit mirror on this list has both. For task light, the front-lit part is what counts.
Color temperature and CRI
Color temperature is how warm or cool the light looks, measured in kelvin. Around 3000K is warm, like a traditional bulb; 4000K is neutral; 6000K is cool and bluish. For makeup, a neutral setting near 4000K to 5000K shows color most like daylight, and a CRI of 90 or more makes skin tones look true. Three-setting mirrors let you use warm light in the evening and neutral for getting ready. I explain both numbers in my guide to the best lighting for makeup.
Anti-fog heating pads
An LED mirror's defogger is a thin heating pad on the back of the glass. It warms the glass so shower steam does not condense on it. Most pads cover the center of the mirror rather than the whole surface, so the middle clears first and the edges last, and most switch off automatically after an hour. Some, like the YEELAIT, can be turned on before the shower to stop fog forming at all.
Size: width first, then height
Make the mirror 4 to 8 inches narrower than the vanity, leaving 2 to 4 inches of wall on each side. A 24 inch wide mirror suits a 30 inch vanity, a 32 inch mirror a 36 to 40 inch vanity, a 40 inch mirror a 48 inch vanity and a 60 inch mirror a double vanity of about 66 inches. Mirrors that hang either way give you two widths to choose from. For the height and where to hang it, see the standard vanity mirror height.
Water resistance and safety ratings
Several listings call their mirrors waterproof, but only the Amorho gives an IP rating (IP65), so treat "waterproof" without a rating as a description. A UL listing, which the LOAAO and the Hivone state for the mirror and the Keonjinn for its LED strips, is a useful sign that the electrical parts have been tested. Every mirror here uses tempered glass or, on the Kohler, an anodized aluminum body.
Mounting
Lighted mirrors are heavier than plain ones. Z-bar brackets and French cleats are the most common systems; both need screws into studs or anchors rated for the weight. My guide on how to hang a heavy mirror covers the fixings.
Yes, if you shave, do skincare or apply makeup at the bathroom sink. A ceiling light shines from above and behind, which casts shadows under your eyes and jaw; a lighted mirror lights your face from the front. Most also add a defogger and adjustable color temperature. They cost more than a plain mirror and need power, so they are less worth it in a powder room used only for handwashing.
They need power, so you have to plan for an outlet or a hardwired connection, and hardwiring means paying an electrician. The LEDs are built in, so if they fail you usually cannot swap a bulb. They are heavier than plain mirrors, and most defoggers only clear the center of the glass. Many makers also skip a CRI figure, which makes light quality hard to compare.
Typically tens of thousands of hours, but few makers publish a figure. Kohler estimates 59,000 hours for the Verdera, which at three hours a day would be more than fifty years. In practice the power supply, touch control or defogger is more likely to fail first than the LEDs themselves. Check the warranty and whether the maker sells replacement parts before you buy.
Brightness is measured in lumens, and most makers do not publish it. Of the mirrors in this list, the TETOTE gives the highest figure, 2800 to 4000 lumens with stepless dimming, and the Kohler Verdera gives 2200 lumens. Larger mirrors with front and back lighting usually put out more light overall, but for your face, the front-lit bands matter more than the backlight.
Yes. The National Electrical Code requires ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection for bathroom receptacles, and a plug-in mirror should only go into a GFCI-protected outlet. In most homes wired to modern code the bathroom outlet is already protected; you will see TEST and RESET buttons on it or on another outlet on the same circuit. If you are not sure, ask an electrician to check.
Hardwire it if you are renovating or replacing a vanity light, because it then works from the wall switch and leaves no cord. Plug it in if you rent, want to install it yourself, or have an outlet near where the mirror will hang. Many mirrors support both, so you can plug in now and have an electrician hardwire it later.
